Lorenzo Vitturi

Red Stripe

Market

For years Lorenzo had been going to the Ridley Road Market in the East London neighborhood Dalston. After some time he decided to make art based on this place. The market is a dynamic place, where a lot happens. Going to a market allows you to see how the locals live. Lorenzo becomes fascinated by the speed at which the market changes and decides to capture it before it becomes unrecognizable.

Trash

After the market closes down for the day and Ridley Road is deserted, Lorenzo goes around to collect items that have been left behind. He lets them rot, manipulates them by painting them or deconstructs them. Lorenzo uses the waste to make temporary sculptures. After he is done photographing them they are destroyed. The trash goes back to being trash.
