You can discover two photos of the same kitchen in different years in this work. Erik cut his family members out of it. They would disturb you from looking at the place, he believes.
Just like us,
places have a history, present and future.
Why did Erik choose to photograph the kitchen of his former home? ‘The kitchen is the centre of the farm where I grew up. We ate. Drank coffee. The administration was done there. It was the heart of the house.’
