Sweet Sensation Consumerism

At first glance, this photo looks like a raspberry ice cream. If you look a little longer you will discover that it consists of half raw beef. The ice cream symbolizes here the way people choose their food.

Lizette does most of the work is in the preliminary phase. She starts thinking, makes sketches and researches the subject she chooses. Once she is sure about the whole concept, Lizette starts photographing. For this photo she has photographed the steak separately from the ice cream. Later she fused the photos together. ‘This feels like painting with the computer’, says Lizette. It requires a lot of accuracy and patience.
