Daniel Gordon

Summer Still Life

Cut-and-paste technique

Daniel uses Google to find pictures on the internet. He searches using term such as "still life". He cuts and edit the pictures he finds in Photoshop and then he prints them. He uses the printed pictures to makes life size installations, that he then photographs like a still life. Daniel uses lighting to create shadows. The still lifes are photographed using analog and digital cameras. To make the installations he uses paper and glue. When Daniel is working on a new artwork his studio is a mess. The whole floor is covered in paper. He only cleans up when he is happy with the end result.

The artist

Daniel is an American photographer. Besides his photography he also writes books.
