Joining in for a bite
Exceptional restaurants worth traveling for can earn one, two, or three Michelin stars. You won’t find a sausage roll or chicken wings on their menus. But snacking is definitely possible. For example, Le Chateaubriand in Paris serves snacks like fried shrimp with tamarind powder and airy cheese puffs topped with poppy seeds.
Speaking of high-level snacking… The Rotterdam-based Frietboutique introduced a kroket made with 24-carat edible gold, wagyu beef, and truffle.
Advertising
Woody’s works often show brand names and logo’s. Here it’s presented as art instead of advertisement.
Michelin
In this artwork you can see the Michelin man. For over a 120 years this has been the mascotte for Michelin, the car tire brand. Nowadays it is also a symbol for the famous Michelin stars that every restaurant wants to have.
Icon
Did you know the Michelin man is actually called Bibendum? He’s made of a huge stack of tires. Now he’s the icon of the car tire.
Seeing stars
Stars often remind you of the sky, the night or outer space. But stars are so much more than a few balls of gas lightyears away. They are also used to add value to different things. Think about movies that can be rated 1 to 5 stars. The more stars, the better.
New York, New York
Only with a couple of hundred dollars in his pocket Woody left Rotterdam in 1961 to travel to New York. Looking for freedom. Once he was there, he stepped into a whole new world and met a couple of other artists. He stayed for two years and came back full of inspiration.
Ask your fellow visitors to close their eyes. Describe an artwork. They may now open their eyes and try to guess which one it was.
