Asian supermarket are filled with colorful packaging. When Dagmar entered one for the first time she was immediately inspired.
The technique that Dagmar uses makes her work a juxtaposition. Embroidery is centuries old and that takes a lot of time. The packages she recreates are mass produced products, shiny with bright happy colors. They invite us to buy them. Dagmar’s work invites us to take more time to look at what we consume every day.
