Pamphlet with Food, August 22, 2020

Marcel suddenly saw the world around him in different light. In the forests and parks of Amsterdam, he saw all kinds of fantasy worlds. The only thing he needed to discover all these parallel worlds, was a bit of imagination.

Where there is life, there are traces of it. Pamphlet With Food is showing us the traces of the inhabitants of Anotherland. What kind of creatures would they be? What did they do? What did they eat? Where are they going? Feel free to fantasize.

It seems like an alien landscape, doesn’t it? Nevertheless the source is located way closer to home. Every day Marcel photographs his own greens compost. Exactly from the same angle. The started during the first Covid lockdown and plans to continue year round. This Picture was taken on the 6th of September 2020.

If you wait long enough, all the peels and other green residues will turn into compost. The ideal breeding ground for new plants. In this way food forms food for food again. The beginning is also the end, and vice versa. Like a circle.

All these traces, signs and symbols could be seen as signs of life. As if someone doesn’t shout, but enthusiastically whispers; “Look at me, here I am! But don't tell anybody ”.
