Ceramic Bottle (white)

Imagine this bottle was a human being. What characteristics would you give him or her?

This work is part of Stephen’s project Bottle River “Vessels”, comprised of around 1500 individual ceramic pieces which meandered like a river through the exhibition space. The mass produced plastic bottles are potentially a toxic by-product of the petrol chemical industry, but contain water, which is of course essential to life. He made each bottle by hand, giving each piece it's own character.

Stephen makes all kinds of art. Photography, sculpture, performance, drawing, painting and installation. He lives and works in Berlin.
