Playing with food
What food would you use to make a face?
Together or alone
Ceel prefers to work alone. He wants to be free in creating and developing his artwork. Do you prefer to work together or alone?
Cave paintings
Before people could write, they painted on rocks. There were many animals on those cave paintings, which were important as food in prehistoric times. Why? We don't know exactly. However, it does inspire Ceel Mogami de Haas enormously. What were the 'trends'? What choices did they make? How did they or didn't they use perspective or chronology? He asks himself what cave paintings would look like today? What do we find important now? What kind of food would we depict now? And what material would we use?
Poetry
Poetry is also a great inspiration for Ceel. He first studied English and American literature before he threw himself into being an artist. That is also how he approaches his artwork. Every time you read a poem, you can discover something new in it. Ceel wants to do the same with his art. He hopes that you can interpret his art in many different ways.
Title
The title of the artwork is My vegetable love should grow. (Vaster than empires, and more slow.) III. Could the title have something to do with Ceel's love for poetry?
Tasty?
What ingredients do you see in this work? Would you like a plate of it?
