Magnetic Stalactite

This artwork is being held together by magnets. The construction is fragile. You can look, but you can’t touch! Maybe you can imagine how much work it was to install this artwork. Every single object was put on this sculpture by hand.

Kara works with metal a lot. She makes all kinds of constructions that sometimes look otherworldly. A few years ago Kara made sculptures that look like antennas. She placed them outside, close to her house in the countryside in Canada. They were put near derelict buildings and in large open fields.
