This work of art is one of the seven crowns that symbolizes the sins from the Praise of Folly written by Desiderius Erasmus. This crown embodies ‘pleasure’.

The Praise of Folly is Erasmus's best-known work. He was a Dutch scholar (philosopher and theologian) who lived from 1469 to 1536.

The Dutch artist describes her work as poetic and often vulnerable. But at the same time it is about 'desires, transience and violence.’
