Italian still life

This painting is a still life with Italian food and drinks on it. Would you paint Italian food products if you painted a still life? Or would you paint French food? Chinese food? Or maybe Mexican food?

The artist, Fons, uses stencils to make his paintings. He first paints the background and he lets it dry. Then he puts the stencils on the canvas and paints over them. He lets the paint dry again and moves the stencils slightly and paints over them again. Fons does this to create volume and interest in his paintings.
