What do you see?
Klaas once said ‘the other knows more, sees more and feels more than me.’ What do you see in this work?
Going in circles
Klaas often uses large cicles or tiny dots in his work. Sometimes he cuts out circles and fills them up again with a different color. Here he folded photographs into a round shape.
Action
In Klaas’ work there’s often a trace of action: throwing paint, sewing or cutting into the canvas. This shows how it’s made. What’s to discover here?
Peek-a-boo
If you are looking through a crack in the curtains into your neighbours house, you won’t be able to see everything. This works gives an idea of what the people are doing. But it doesn’t show a complete picture.
